About Us
Who we are
Save the Children works in more than 120 countries. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfill their potential.
Our vision
Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
Our mission
Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
The people that work here at Save the Children are driven by a belief that something must be done to challenge injustice. That determination presents itself in many forms, motivating everyone whatever their role.
We work with children, communities and governments all over the world and we believe in the right person for the job regardless of where you come from and how you identify yourself. We need to keep children safe so our selection process and our expectation of staff behaviour reflects our commitment to the protection of children from abuse and exploitation.
We're ambitious about achieving dramatic change for children, and we're determined to deliver it. Find out more on how together we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.
Advocacy and Policy
Our Advocacy Division enables us to take our influencing work up a level in terms of impact on policy and political change for children. By integrating lobbying, policy and research and campaigning in one department, we will be more coherent, focused and agile in our ability to respond to and shape external agendas at the global, UK and country levels.
Global Programmes
The Global Programmes Division is responsible for delivering immediate and lasting change for children. This is achieved through the highest possible quality humanitarian and development programmes for children with innovation and impact that can be taken to scale around the world. As part of achieving this change for children, Global Programmes also leads our efforts to establish partnerships with and raise money for this work from institutional donors (including governments, multi-laterals and trusts).
Marketing, Fundraising and Communications
Marketing, Fundraising and Communications is the largest division at Save the Children. It is made up of 10 teams and raised £147.5m in 2015. The division aims to achieve lasting change for the most deprived and marginalised children through making Save the Children a Cause of Millions. The division is split into two halves; routes to market and lead and support teams. MF&C supports and works directly with our corporate partners, philanthropists, our 140 shops and over 398,000 supporters, as well as maintaining and revamping our brand, making us a digital charity in the 21st century, giving us supporter insight, managing our media.
Support Services
The Support Services Division works with the organisation to provide leadership and direction in financial and legal matters, people, IT and audit. Underlying this is the provision of excellent, cost effective service and responsive, practical support to the organisation and making best use of our resources in driving to be a 21st Century organisation.
